Studio Sterling Ndebele Full Circle Suspended Seat
About the Item
The WHEEL swing seat is sculptural and dynamic. Its striking circular shape lends itself for use as a functional art piece.
The chair has an open yet enveloping feel.
The pattern detail is inspired by nature and reminiscent of the veins in leaves, tree branches intersecting, the patterns in dragonfly wings, cracked soil and natural textures.
Each one is made by hand and the core frame is standard to ensure consistency in shape and comfort. Due to the variance of craftsmanship going into each chair, every piece has individualism and uniqueness in some of the pattern detailing.
They are ideal for inside or outside use and look gorgeous on a deck, patio, hanging from a branch of a tree or anywhere indoors.
The NDEBELE WHEEL follows the classic shape of Studio Stirling’s original WHEEL but with an African inspired design inside.
The pattern detail is inspired by the geometric Ndebele artworks used in house painting which is practiced by the Southern Ndebele people of South Africa.
The NDEBELE WHEEL is available in 2 different shapes - one a uniform cylinder and the other, a more dynamic shape which ends at a sharp point.

Studio Stirling's passion is designing unique Hanging Swing Chairs, Loungers, Daybeds and Swings, which we then make by hand! The collection is designed by multiple award winning designer team Joanina and David Pastoll.
All of them are ideal for inside or outside use and look gorgeous on a deck, patio, hanging from a branch of a tree or anywhere indoors. They are great used as functional art pieces or a signature item.
As each one is made by hand it therefor allows for each piece to have individualism and uniqueness in some of the pattern detailing due to the variance of craftsmanship. They are made from steel - so very strong and durable, E coated for rust protection (like on the chassis of a car) and then powder coated. Form-fitting comfort, ergonomic design perfect both for indoor and outdoor spaces: choose yours from our collection.
