About the Item

The French developed the glass cloche, or bell jar as a way to protect early garden plants from bleak cold and frost-a hothouse in miniature. This pair of hand blown thick glass large 19th century French bell shaped garden cloche are formed as a single piece of clear glass with a solid knob handle. This pair have unique and slightly irregular form, with flaws and imperfections that add to their organic characteristics. They very about one half inch in diameter and height.
