Pair of Walnut and Gilt Stucco Alcoves, Empire Style
About the Item
This pair of Restoration style alcoves date back to the Louis-Philippe era at the beginning of the 19th century.
These are elements of a paneled room , real elements of architecture allowing to redesign the space.
In a beautiful hue of walnut, these alcoves are composed of four panels separated by Corinthian pilasters with gilded capitals. The vault is delimited by a fine molding, and underlined by the wooden edges joining at the top.
The ark is highlighted by a row of gilt stucco flowers, surmounted by Allegories of Fame in flight, bringing crowns.
