18th Century, Anglo-Indian Stone Columns

About

These wonderful pieces, with a dreamly patina and a sincretism of continents on the capitels, are a clear example of the European influence in India. They possibly comes from some of the European bastions that were along its coast: Goa, Diu, Damán, Bassin.... from all the small Portuguese, English or French forts. Due to the continuous export of cotton to New Spain, it is not unreasonable to even think about the presence of Mexican factories, as they were at Cambay, Gujerat, city that exported (during the viceregal period) cotton textiles for some of the mexican rebozos to be made.
