About the Item
A striking French 19th century Louis XVI St. Rouge Griotte marble, ormolu and silvered bronze pedestal column. The column is raised by an elegant square base with a stepped design and beautiful fitted wrap around ormolu bands with fine palmettes designs. The circular central support displays a richly chased mottled ormolu and silvered bronze mount with a wrap around berried laurel band and an impressive and finely detailed foliate silvered bronze and ormolu capital. Above is the square display platform with a mottled border.
