French carved and polychromed column with grapevine decor, France 18th century
About the Item
Polychromed and hand carved decorative column. Ideal for your wine cellar, bar or deli. Made from a single piece of wood. It has grape vine decors carved into it. The paint is still original and in good condition, It was bought in France by a Dutch wine merchant in the 1950s and used as a decorative piece in his wine business. The column is placed on a pedestal made from stained wood. The pedestal dates from a later period. The pedestal measures 45x25cm and the columns itself measures 20cm in diameter.
