French Pair Late 19th C. Fluted Iron Columns w/Painted Finish

About the Item

A French pair of iron columns with textured artisan hand-painted finish from the turn of the 19th and 20th century. These antique pillars from France, standing just shy of 6.5 feet in height, have rounded and fluted bodies that are thicker at their bottom portions and taper as they go upwards, and hollow on their interior. The columns are each risen on 15" square base platforms (which are not new, but were a later addition to the original iron columns). The columns without the bases are approximately 5.3 feet in height, their tops are 11.25" in diameter, and their bottoms measure 11.25" in diameter. The older thickly painted finish (which is likely between 30 and 50 years old) is a more contemporary take on faux marble design with the look of bold veining much like granite, in peach and coral hues. Since the bases match the columns, they are likely the age of the finish. This pair of late 19th century French fluted and painted iron columns will add nice height, architectural interest, and pop of joyful color to your home.
