19th Century Limoges Porcelain Cache Pot in a Sèvres Style

About the Item

A beautiful and vividly coloured 19th century cache pot, or jardinière, lovingly crafted from Limoges porcelain in the 18th century Sèvres style. This charming planter features two side handles, and is glazed in classic powder blue, highlighted throughout with gilt bronze accents. The central image depicts an eyecatching spray of exuberant wildflowers, skilfully hand- painted in polychrome, and enclosed within a gilt border. This design is echoed on the rear, with a single bloom and foliage picked out in gold. The pot is signed on the base by the artist, 'Galis', and is in excellent antique condition, with many years of decorative use ahead of it.
