Chinese Stone Water Trough, circa 1900

About the Item

Once used on a provincial Chinese farm to hold water or animal feed, this early 20th century stone trough is celebrated today for its organic form and rustic authenticity. The trough is hand-carved from solid limestone with a rectangular form, rounded corners and a deep interior basin. The chiseled surface of the stone has weathered with time, developing subtle asymmetry and color variation. A drainage hole is carved into one side, making the trough ideal as a statement garden planter or even an unexpected sink basin. Additional Dimensions: Interior: 17"W x 12"D x 5"H.
