French Terracotta Large Vase Planter Anduze Style Patio Garden 20th Mid-Century

About the Item

This terracotta planter is made is the Anduze style from the Boisset brothers manufacture. This type of vase has been made by the Boisset family at Anduze in the South of France for four centuries. A Cévennes potter was inspired by Medicis vases at the Beaucaire fair. Seduced by such elegance, he added the crests and garlands that make this model instantly recognizable. A great success, the Boisset d'Anduze vase is still reproduced today and adorns our most beautiful gardens, as well as more modest ones. It can be used to arrange a corner in a garden, a courtyard, a patio or an indoor garden. An old chip at the foot of the vase, non-structural and not disturbing. Good vintage condition.
