About the Item
A pair of weathered lead garden urns, Round, with pronounced gadrooned waist, with a band of scrolling acanthus centred on two faun heads, with scrolling handles terminating in female nudes with folded arms. Waisted foot cast with acanthus leaves.
After a design by John Van Nost. A set of sixteen urns were commissioned by William III for the Privy Garden at Hampton Court Palace.
