American Large Bronze Sensual Beauty By Important Midcentury Sculptor

About the Item

An important large scale hand cast bronze sculpture of a sensual nude woman signed Benson and dated 1939 by mid century American sculptor Stuart Benson (1877-1949). The bronze figure cast in an Art Deco manner with a Japanese inspired bronze plank style base.. Dimensions Height: 29.5" , 100 lbs Classic nude female mid century pose complete with signed base. She is simply yet seductively cast- a charming and subtle design. Her base is reminiscent of Japans often encountered thick cut wood planks with rough edging often used to display prized okimono sculptures. Excellent garden candidate.
