Pair of Lifesize Italian Black & White Great Dane Dog Statues
About the Item
A playful pair of reclaimed mid 20th century life-size Great Dane statues made in terracotta and glazed in white with black spots. Handsomely made, these dogs are superbly designed in realistic detail with dynamic profiles, pointed ears and lively faces! Each large terracotta dog sits in a similar seated position with heads turned at opposite angles, making a handsome pair either side of a doorway, arch or standing guard either side of a large staircase. While the fawn toned dog is famously associated with the Great Dane breed, this life-size pair of statues take after the Harlequin Great Dane which is known for its black and white spots. They are best suited to indoor use but could also be used to decorate a sheltered outdoor climate. Dimensions stated are for each dog.
