A Pair of Monumental Enfield Pottery Terra Cotta Urns
About the Item
Pair of monumental terra cotta urns made by the Enfield Pottery and Tile Company, Enfield PA, circa 1915. Originally placed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1916 in front of his mural "Dream Garden" which was taken from a Maxfield Parrish design in the Curtis Publishing Company Building in Philadelphia. These stunning elegant urns are in a classical, Greek-inspired ovoid form with narrow neck and flaring rim, extremely thick, the terracotta strenghtened by grog.
