Antique Chinese Basket. Chinese Antique Basket of woven rattan, reeds, wood, and clay with lacquers. A beautiful example, this basket is very old and over time the basket has been recovered in lacquers. At some period in its history the basket was decorated using red and black lacquers. Red and Black combined is usually representinve of a wedding basket in Chinese culture. In very good condition, with signs of use and age. Hair line surface cracks to the lacquer are evident with close inspection, this is natural and common for this type of item and not detracting from the integrity or beauty.
