Late 18th century George III leather hand painted fire bucket

About the Item

Late 18th century George III leather hand painted fire bucket circa 1780. Good quality leather fire bucket.  Armorial decorated, inscribed honi soit-oui mal y pense, which means shamed be whoever things evil of it, which was used by the british order of the garter. Obvious losses to paintwork and age splits to the leather, but structurally sound.  Later 19th century leather handle.
