Cenedese Italian Rectangular Black and Clear Murano Glass Bowl, Dish or Ashtray

About the Item

Antonio da Ros for Cenedese (new old stock) thick and heavy vintage Mid-Century modern Italian Murano small rectangular glass bowl, dish or astray made circa 1965-1975. Large and heavy piece of glass features a simplistic, elegant form and design in thick clear glass with a black patch to create a stunning centrepiece which captures the light beautifully and is a wonderful midcentury vase. Interestingly, there is no such thing as truly black glass, rather it is a very dark Amethyst (purple) and it is difficult to produce a black looking glass - however, here, Cenedese has managed to do this. Rare piece of glass in collector’s condition as this is actually new old stock which. was recovered from the vaults at Cenedese on the Venetian island of Murano.
