Decorative Buncheong Bowl by Jason Fox

About the Item

Wheel Thrown Flower Stamped Buncheong bowl by Jason Fox 2 1/8" x 5 1/2" Largely influenced by Korean Pottery, Jason pays respect to the rich history of Buncheong Ware with this serving bowl. This decorative bowl was thrown on the wheel with a beautiful dark brown stoneware. After trimming, wooden flower stamps and other tools were used to imprint a pattern in the clay and then a white slip was painted over the new patterns. After letting clay and slip set up a bit the excess was then delicately trimmed off to reveal the pattern in the now contrasting clays. The bowl was then slowly allowed to dry and then bisque fired. After the initial firing it was dipped in a clear glaze and then fired one last time over two thousand degrees in a reduction gas kiln. A truly unique piece handmade by Jason Fox in Los Angeles that can be used functionally as a serving bowl (please hand wash) or as an accent piece for any modern decor. Thanks!.
