French Art Deco Verlys opalescent glass bowl, 1930s French Art Deco opalescent glass, made by Verlys, during the 1930s This bowl has an opalescent color due to certain light. That is why the pictures have a dark background. In normal daylight it is a frosted clear glass, with certain light bluish on the relief pattern of chestnuts with chestnut leaves on the outside of the bowl. the chestnuts act as the legs of the bowl. The bowl measures 6.4 cm high and 39.8 cm diagonal. The weight is 1740 grams. Shows traces of use, like scratches, no chips or cracks Verlys glass was made in Rouen, France, by the Société Holophane Français, est. 1920. The art glass is blown or cast. It is also known as the American Verlys glass Newark, Ohio, from 1935 to 1951 and is signed with a name with a diamond point, but the French pieces, like this one, are marked with a cast signature.
