Itabira Centerpieces (Set of 2) by Estúdio Dentro, Brazilian Contemporary Design

About the Item

The Itabira Collection is born from the nostalgic anguish of coming from a city surrounded by progress and destruction. The same opulence is tragedy. The studio got inspiration from stories about precarious mining in the homonymous city, which occurred intensely in the seventies, leaving a myriad of issues to both the municipality and population. The name Itabira originates from the Tupi indigenous language, meaning stone (ita) that shines (bira). The design for the vases and centerpieces get inspiration from the bateias (gold pans) used in mining. The wood bars work as a poetic element, dividing the piece in two asymmetrical sides. The set includes: - 1 Itabira Small Centerpiece measures: 29 cm x 29 cm x 5,3 cm (L x W x H) 11.4 in x 11.4 in x 2.1 in (L x W x H) - 1 Itabira Large Centerpiece measures: 44 cm x 44 cm x 8 cm (L x W x H) 17.3 in x 17.3 in x 3.1 in (L x W x H) *Aluminum receives powder coated finish in either black or beige color. *Wood finished with mineral oil and wood wax. *Wood veins and color may vary from piece to piece due to the nature of the material.
