Large 19th Century French Wooden Grain or Dough Bowl with Handles

About the Item

A large 19th century French wooden grain or dough bowl with four carrying handles hand carved from a single block of wood, circa 1890s. This handsome bowl was used for a wide variety of tasks around the farm including food preparation and to kneed dough and let it rise. A wonderful aged patina with tooling marks that only add to the character. A rustic and versatile bowl that will add a touch of French Country wherever it's used. Perfect for use as a hallway catch-all, centerpiece to display fruit, vegetables, and flowers, or use to hold towels or toiletries in a guest bath.
