Large Primitive Oval-Shaped Dug Out Bowl from Sweden

About the Item

Large primitive oval-shaped dug out bowl from Sweden dating to the mid-19th century. Traces of reddish oxblood color paint on bowl exterior. Interior of bowl is scrubbed leaving a darkened finish that highlights the beautiful wood grain of the fruitwood. Inscribed on bottom "PER SODERBERG" with the number "55." Note: Original/early finish on antique and vintage metal will include some, or all, of the following: patina, scaling, light rust, discoloration, and corrosion. Due to regional changes in humidity and climate during shipping, antique wood may shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer may loosen or peel, and painted finishes and gilt may flake and crack.
