A Superb French Late 19th Century Overlaid and Acid Etched Glass Bowl This beautiful late 19th-century bowl is a remarkable piece. It is made from clear glass which is overlaid in rich rose pink. The lower section is acid etched with a raised flower design and the top half is fitted with a finely cut and pierced gilt brass overlay decorated with trailing leaves which have been superbly hand engraved to detail their veins and stems. This most unusual bowl is in good condition. The gilding on the overlay shows no sign of wear. The underside of the bowl has been hand cut with a star design which adds quality and interest when looking into the bowl. Circa 1900. Dimensions: W 20 cm (7.9") x D 20 cm (7.9") x H 9.5 cm (3.7")
