Vintage Murano Glass Pulegoso Bowl, Seguso
About the Item
Vintage Murano Glass Pulegoso Bowl, Seguso
This is a handsome bowl with a blueish/aqua blue submersed or encased in green, making most of the bowl appear an aqualike blue, with the rim area more of a green. (Please see video for detail). We found no chips or cracks. One of the pulegoso bubbles seems to have risen up in one spot (shown zoomed in on the penultimate photo) during creation of the piece; it is small and does not hurt the piece. Indeed this often happens during the hand blowing of controlled bubble Murano glass (there may be a couple of much tinier ones on the inside, felt slightly with fingers.).There is a black scuff looking mark in the interior that might actually be something that also occurred during creation -- perhaps ash from the heating fire. It cannot be felt on the glass (last photo). The bottom of the bowl had felt on it, which we removed. The bottom could use polishing as the felt left it rather dulled.
