Museum Quality Qajar Dynasty Brass Bowl

About the Item

18th century very fine Qajar dynasty brass bowl. Persian metalwork is by far the best in the world. The finer modern work started in Safavid dynasty and was perfected during the Qajar time. This particular piece is one of the best ever made. It is showing a lot of fine details chiseled and carved by hand. The metal itself is extremely thin which is hard to work on and only a real master could carve such a piece. It contains the portraits of six ancient Persian kings. The bowl also includes a lot of the flowers and a eslimi design which is prominent in Safavid design. This magnificent bowl is second to none. Dimensions: 7" on top10" at the widest point. 7 3/4" height. The bowl has some cuts and repairs and some dents.
