Vintage Patinated Bronze Shallow Bowl by Just Andersen

About the Item

A beautiful patinated bronze shallow bowl designed by Just Andersen. The bowl has an embossed design around the top lip. Just Andersen (1884-1943) was an internationally renowned designer of metal objects. Andersen is best known for his neoclassic Scandinavian design of objects for everyday use in pewter, brass, copper, bronze and Disko ( Disko Metal is an alloy of lead and antimony, which was Andersen's own invention and named after the Disko Bay of Greenland, where he grew up.). Andersen and his wife Alba started their own firm in 1918, primarily creating gold and silver jewelry. However, it was his bronze, pewter, and "Disko" metal decorative arts that made his reputation international. The bowl measure approximately 7 3/8 inches in diameter and is 7/8 inches tall. It is marked on the bottom of the base, stamped “Denmark,” with the "Just Anderson triangle logo" and the model number “B4”.
