1920s French Art Nouveau Three Bronze Hinged Apples and Pear Trinket Boxes

About the Item

Antique hinged bronze patinated apples and a pear trinket boxes on a twig with leaves, to keep or collect your little trinkets in. They used to be called bed-apple or bed-pear, and they were used for putting your jewellery in on your nightstand before going to bed. But evidently they also where often used as ashtray. The colour and design on them is different on all three, that makes this a great little collection. Measurements: Apple: 9cm high, 18cm wide, 23cm long Slightly darker apple: 8cm high, 16cm wide, 20cm long Pear: 7,5cm high, 17cm wide, 20cm long It is an impressive little fruit set but they would look great on their own on your coffee table book stack as well.
