"Gilt Tray" by Brian Stanziale

About

In an exclusive collaboration, each hand-studded piece by artist Brian Stanziale was transformed from a Provincial 19th century artifact into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Embellishing with silver and gold thumbtacks, Stanziale adds a contemporary twist to our storied objects, animating each surface with bold and provocative designs. This red lacquer footed tray was originally used in a Qing-dynasty home to serve tea on a traditional kang daybed. Marked by the artist's golden touch, the tray is now a striking centerpiece, dotted with clusters of silver and gold.
