Breathtaking large signed decorative porcelain vase, extremely intricately hand painted in white and the artist's signature deep blue on a stunning soft octagonal shaped porcelain body in black, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist from Kutani region of Japan. This fascinating rare piece showcases a striking water lily and foliage motif in white and shades of the artist's signature blue on a black background with dramatic lines creating square outlines in black on the blue foliage. This piece is fired at high temperature making the glaze to flow, creating foliage with a mesmerizing soft feel bringing the foliage to life with extremely realistic details occuring by the flow of colors. The lilies are slightly raised to create a beautiful contrast. A stunning centerpiece and focal point. The images can not due justice to the sophisticated details and stunning colors of this creation.     On offer is a truly impressive blue and white porcelain plate of Hizen ware, from Arita in Japan, circa mid to late-19th century. The plate was made by Kajiwara Kikujiro (菊次郎, the second Kiku son) and/or Kajiwara Kikusaburo (菊三郎, the third Kiku son who died in 1883) of the Kajiware Family Kiln of in Arita.
