A large antique Japanese Meiji period cloisonné enamel charger
About the Item
A large antique Japanese Meiji period cloisonné enamel charger dating from the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
The charger is decorated with a flying stork in front of a wonderful array of flowers such as chrysanthemum, peonies, forget-me-nots and blue irises and their foliage on a turquoise blue background with a hovering butterfly. The border is also highly decorated with a type of floral pattern.
