Classic Olivewood Videpoche by Alexandre Noll, France, c. 1950 (Signed) This object is a trademark example of Noll's exquisite artistry and powerful sensitivity to the medium of wood. The videpoche consists of a wonderfully sculpted border with a smooth, recessed area. The objects shows an incredible fidelity to the original olivewood material and perfectly expresses Noll's wish "to make of wood all that could be made out of wood." Signature etched on the underside.
