Rare Antique Kangxi Chinese Porcelain Tea Set 'Master of the Rocks', 1680-1700

About the Item

Lovely thinly potted antique Chinese porcelain saucer and cup with a central decoration of a person on horseback next to a tree with a bird in it, executed in a charming underglaze blue. In the border a decoration of patterns identical to those in the center, surrounded by a rim with pine trees and blurry dots. The cup has horse riders, rocks and trees. The mountains are executed in the "Master of the Rocks" style. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Qing dynasty, early Kangxi period (ca. 1680-1700). On the back side a decoration of sprays of bamboo, and the quite rare ’Mei Yu Ya Zhi’ mark (beautiful jade refined vessel).
