Seguso Murano Dark Amethyst Gold Flecks Italian Art Glass Conch Seashell Bowl

About the Item

Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown dark amethyst and gold flecks Italian art glass decorative shell vide-poche bowl. Documented to designer Archimede Seguso, circa 1950s. Published technique in books. Created with powder pigments, "Pulveri" technique, and profusely covered in gold leaf. The bowl has a conch seashell shape. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. Use it as a catchall, candy dish or jewelry / ring dish. Mid-century era. Measures: 5" long x 4 1/2" wide x 2" high. Literature: I Vetri Di Archimede Seguo dal 1950 al 1959, Umberto Allemandi & C. Tavola 30and 31 illustrates samples and technique.
