About the Item

A bronze box with a map of Greenland (Cronland in Danish) incised into the top of the box lid, with a cerused oak interior on solid metal feet. Incised on the underside with makers mark (intelligible) Greenland (Danish: Grønland) is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark. Though part of the continent of North America, Greenland has been politically associated with Europe (specifically Denmark) since the 18th century. In 1979, Denmark granted home rule to Greenland.
