Antique English George III Knife Box / Stationary c.1790

About the Item

A handsome English Georgian Mahogany knife box having been later converted into a more usable stationery box. The brass fittings are all original and and the lock to the front comes with a working tasseled key. When it was converted to a stationary box it was re-lined in a hand-made paper, in keeping with the style of the box. The sloped lid is inlaid with a fan inlay (a faintly visible repair to the veneer can just be seen at 10 o'clock just above the inlay - mentioned purely for accuracy). Excellent antique condition dating the George III era, c.1790 and measuring 9" wide x 10 2/4" deep x 14 3/4" tall at rear. Item: 35623 FREE Worldwide Registered Airmail Directly From the UK
