Antique English Regency cellarette / cassone casket / coffer / coffret , trunk or marriage chest. Made of carved mahogany featuring blind fretwork with Neoclassical floral and acanthus designs, fruit and berries, high relief carved lion heads and large ornate exquisitely detailed winged paw feet. In the manner of George Bullock, Circa early 19th century. George Bullock (c.1777–1818) was a sculptor and furniture-maker working in Liverpool and London Procured from a historic 1922 waterfront estate in Orcas Islands, Washington. Known for a Hollywood history, once home to Theda Bara and Silent Film producers with John Wayne and others regularly frequenting. Dimensions: 25.5" x 32.5" x 24"h

    An exceptionally fine quality example of a Lady’s or Gentleman’s English Regency Period polished brass mounted Flame Mahogany Inlaid Boulle Style Jewellery or Trinket Casket or Table Box made during the first quarter of the Nineteenth Century, of English origin.  The rectangular form with hinged lid opening to reveal a later burgundy coloured woven fabric which is superbly done. Central cartouche on lid with initials possibly RLH.  This exquisite casket is raised on four generous beaded bun supports.  Condition: Good condition with nice patination, no losses to brass inlays.
