Antique European Drum-Shaped Storage Vessel with Removable Lid Top

About the Item

A European drum-shaped storage container with lid top from the early 20th century. This antique storage vessel from Europe stands approximately 29.25" tall and was originally used for storing dry goods. The drum-shaped body has been constructed of a thick fiber material, with leather banding on some exterior areas, and felt lining on the interior. The initials "CPCO" & "21" are painted in a gold tone on the topside, and this piece has a lovely old patina; a reflection of it's age, about the exterior, which only add to the character. The top lifts off of the container to reveal plentiful storage within. Note that there are some losses to one of the leather straps at top. This antique drum-shaped European storage vessel would make a wonderful decorative object for your home or office, perhaps used as a unique place to store pillows, blankets or other items within arm's reach.
