Vallauris circa 160's
In 1947, Jean Derval joined Robert Picault and Roger Capron in Vallauris were they shared a workshop.
In 1949 he joined Madoura, the famous workshop where he worked side to side with Picasso during 2 years.
In 1951, he created his own work shop "Le Portail"
He made the demanding choice of creating « pièces uniques ", unique pieces .
