Contemporary Japanese Pure Platinum Gold Red Porcelain Box by Master Artist
About the Item
Mesmerizing Japanese contemporary decorative porcelain box, extremely intricately platinum and gold gilded and hand painted on an exquisite ovoid shape body, featuring an extremely intricate geometric progression expressed in red, gold and platinum. It is a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed award-winning second-generation porcelain artist and the younger of a two-brother team of master porcelain artists working in the historic Imari-Arita region of southern Japan.
This artist is second-to-none in creating extremely complicated geometric patterns by applying the most sophisticated and demanding techniques of miniature painting to the complex and curved surfaces of porcelain pieces. The artist's profile is available upon request.
This extraordinary piece showcases a painstakingly created vortex pattern at the centre of which all time and matter seem to collapse into a singularity. To create a constantly shifting kaleidoscope-like effect as the observer is invited to share in the artist’s visual interpretation of the infinite. This fascinating and detailed geometric diamond pattern in red, gold and platinum, is progressively miniaturized as it approaches the centre of the box. The diamonds sit atop an underlying labyrinth pattern that lends a mysterious sense of depth to the vase. It is mesmerizing how it can boast its stunning deep red or the dazzling gold and platinum, depending on how much light it receives.
Opening the lead, the viewer will be pleasantly surprised by a band of intricate diamond pattern in shades of blue decorating the edge of lid and a circle diamond pattern in the same attractive colors of the outer side of the box in the center of the lower half of the box.
This exquisite gilded porcelain decorative lidded box comes in a custom made wooden box signed by the artist.
