Meiji Period Lacquer Box

About the Item

Meiji period small lacquer box with hinged lid, Japanese. Finely decorated - bits of abalone inlay add sparks in several areas. The recessed circle contains swallows in flight. Fine gilding highlights the raised lacquer work of several types. 4 5/8" x 3 3/8" x 1 3/4" d.
