This choice work bears the prestigious labelof 'The Roycroft Inn at East Aurora New York,' adding a layer of historical significance. Stamped with the iconic Roycroft Mark—a double-barred cross and circle with the letter "R"—this table box is a testament to the craftsmanship of the Arts & Crafts movement.
Measuring 6 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 1.75 inches high, the box features a distinctive architectural design. The rectangular hand-hammered copper lid, adorned with a 'rat tail' ornament on the original hinge, opens to reveal a velvet-lined lid and interior. The lower case is supported by four straight corner columns, displaying hand-hammered sides.
This box was well loved and used, Some of the patina, has blurred, and shows overall wear. Still the patina is acceptable, it radiates a warmth.
