Set of four Limoges Trinket Boxes
About the Item
These fanciful porcelain trinket boxes charm with soft color and hand-painted decoration. Drawing on traditions that date back to the 18th century, these compact trinket boxes are in the style of traditional Limoges porcelain. Limoges porcelain boxes emerged in the mid-18th century and were originally used to store trinkets, cosmetics, tobacco, and pills. The underside of the basket shaped Limoges box bears the mark of the esteemed Limoges company Chamart.
From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.
