American Oversized Hand-Carved Incolay Stone Jewelry Box

Large Incolay Stone Jewelry Box, handcrafted in the USA.
This stunning American made Incolay Stone is a handcrafted man-made material using natural stone that resembles cameo. It became very popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The company was located in California. Romantic Golden Collections and Louis XVI style.
Very good vintage condition with very light wear, a few jewelry impressions on the velvet, but no chips, cracks, minor scratches may exist on the bottom from age appropriate wear and use.
It measures 9 3/4" deep x 13 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" high, and has a removable tray which covers another compartment below. The lining is a gorgeous velvet. The stone is a variegated brown color with white striations and heavy romantic decoration in high relief on the lid, sides, back and front depicting cherubs, medallions, and floral scrollwork. The top has a crest that could be monogrammed or engraved. The texture resembles soapstone or cameo. The box has been used very little and still has the original promotional tag with it.
It is quite heavy and generous in size and looks stunning on a dresser, nightstand or bath counter. Will enhance any setting.
