Show exceptional workmanship with remarkably details as you expect from the iconic jewelry workshop of Louis Kuppenheim. It is fitted with a hinge and a tension element for fastening opening and closing. Actually this box can be easily used as a pill box.

Louis Kuppenheim
The company was grounded in 1854 by Louis Kuppenheim (1824-1889) and Heinrich Witzenmann, specialized in silver and gold and -enameled artefacts. On the World Exhibition in 1900 the firm received a gold medal for a letter opener. In that same year the company opened a branch in the Rue Richelieu 67 in Paris. In these years some designs by Hans Christiansen were executed, amongst them very delicately enameled silver cigarette cases. The enamels on the several silver and gold pieces was of very high standard, and sometimes even gems like rubies were applied. This exceptional antique Persian silver box has a rectangular form, supported with four plain ball feet.
The body of this antique box is embellished with impressive niello enamel floral festoon panels, encompassed with fret band decorated borders.
The box is fitted with an impressive hinged cover, embellished with further niello enamel decoration incorporating a vacant scroll shaped cartouche to the centre.
This exceptional box has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 850 standard silver.
NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver interior.
Condition
This antique Persian silver and niello enamel box is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The piece has some natural surface wear in keeping with age.

The body of the vesta box is embellished with embossed lobed decoration accented with an applied oval thumbpiece/striker to the anterior side.
The hallmarked hinged cover of this collectable antique box is ornamented with an impressive two-toned blue enamel quatrefoil design incorporating scrolling leaf design to either end, with a central spiraling leaf motif encircled with a red enamel border.
The cover is further ornamented with an applied trellis design within a plain rectangular border, all encompassed with tooled decoration detailing the lobed form.
The hinged silver vesta box cover opens to reveal the original hinged, bright cut engraved decorated silver gilt internal cover allowing access to the match compartment.
