Minimalist Functional Design Candelabrum White Dreams by Natalie Katwal

About the Item

Candelabrum is a part of the ‘White Dreams’ collection by Berlin based designer Natalie Katwal. ‘White Dreams’ is known as a dream experience which cannot be described. The project aims to describe perception of reality through decoding the subconscious motives of personality in dreams. The artist Natalie Katwal came to work with functional sculpture from the field of clothing design. Recently, Natalie presented her new project, WHITE DREAMS — a series of objects created from artificial stone mass, one of her favourite materials. 'I am an artist — creating modern functional sculpture. I also do visual art (photo and video). For a long time I worked as a fashion designer and I hope that I will soon apply all my skills and knowledge in this area to create new art objects. All these areas are easily combined in my vision of the integrity of the artist.' Natalie Katwal

  • Sculptural Beechwood Functional Coat Rack Surfaced by Sho Ota
    By Sho Ota
    Located in Amsterdam, NL
At the intersection of industrial design and craftsmanship, Sho's sculptural works are both minimalistic and multi-layered. Every piece of collectible design is handmade by Sho himself. The development of the final form appears slowly through the making process and also depends on the wood – its appearance and texture can vary, making each piece unique. With all joints of the coat rack left visible, Sho Ota brings back the pleasure of contemplating real wood. With his design objects, Sho seeks to find an alternative to industrially - flattened wood and instead encourages us to discover the imperfection of this natural material. Sho Ota's special sence of color gives this wooden functional sculpture...
