Grey Sant Vicenç sculpted candleholder by Sanna Völker The Size of the candleholder is 15 x 3 x 9 cm, designed to be used with drip-less candles of Size Ø22 mm. All pieces are handcrafted in natural stone. This results in variations in color and texture, where each piece is unique (especially the red travertine version has very notable variations). All products are sold untreated and does not require additional treatments over time. Snug candleholders by Sanna Völker are handmade by stonemasons who have mastered their Craft for four generations, dating back to 1880. All pieces are made from natural stone leftovers, some up to 500 million years old, handpicked by the designer herself from a quarry located in a small mountain village in the province of Barcelona. Snug is a small, self produced project that celebrates local Craft, quality Material and emotional value. The essence of the product is the Material itself, expressed through a Minimalist design. Stone is created and shaped by history, through shifting continents, seas and earthquakes. Some tell their story through banded layers, others through fossils. And it is here, in their sheer variation, that Snug finds its beauty. The two candles are trapped by the Material in what becomes a Brutalist yet delicate candleholder. Snug is a story of craftsmanship, sustainability and transparency. Sanna Völker is a Swedish born designer of objects and furniture who works in the interface between Scandinavia and Spain. ?Her designs have been exhibited in Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels and Cologne. ? Her work can be described as a search for equilibrium between rawness and refinement, harmony and intrigue. Her designs often draw references to architecture and brutalism, manifested in furniture and objects of pure shapes. Human intervention in nature and society is a theme that she often explores in detail. Working with natural materials her pieces consists of clean geometries coupled with timeless expression.
