Mid-Century Wood-Turned Candle Stick Holders in Oregon Myrtlewood, USA, c. 1970s

About the Item

Introducing a set of Mid-Century Modern hand-turned candlestick holders carved from what is often called the "rarest wood in the world". Umbellularia californica also known as myrtlewood is an incredibly rare evergreen tree that is found only in the Klamath mountains of western Oregon and is world famous for it's variegated woodgrains unique to the myrtlewood species. With their superior hand-turned craftsmanship, extraordinary woodgrains and classic Mid-Century Modern shape this set of gorgeous candlestick holders is sure to add the perfect accent to any table or dining space. Ideal for collectors of rare hardwoods or discerning modern design this set won't last long. Make them yours today before they're gone forever. ---Dimensions--- Width: 3.75 in / 9.53 cm Depth: 3.75 in / 9.53 cm Height: 3 in / 7.62 cm This set of ultra-unique candlestick holders is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The solid myrtlewood is in very good shape showing only minor nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said there are no deep scratches, gouges or stains present and the woodgrains unique to the myrtlewood species are absolutely captivating in natural light. The solid brass rings show only minor tarnishing. This extraordinary set of candlestick holders is functional, structurally sound and ready for a lifetime more of use. Please view all photos for details on this set's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request.
