About the Item
fine and very unusual large pair of English open barley twist candle sticks. The candle sticks of extraordinary Size with a beautiful dark brown patination throughout. Having round bases with stepped design and long open barley twist type stems leading to the original metal sconces. The pair of candle sticks Measure a huge 24 Inches (61cm) tall and due to their Size are a rare pair to survive from the period.
Notes The Georgian era was a period in British history from 1714 to c. 1830–1837, named after the Hanoverian kings George I, George II, George III and George IV. The definition of the Georgian era is often extended to include the relatively short reign of William IV, which ended with his death in 1837.
