Thomas Heming was a master silversmith who's mark was first registered in 1745. In 1760 he was appointed principal silversmith to King George III, a position he held until the early 1780s. He was succeeded by his son, and the Heming Family long continued the tradition of the production of exceptional Silver items.
Each Candlestick has a full English Hallmark. As is common these are hallmarked on the inside of the base and are obscured by the wooden inserts, but can be seen if removed.
These George II Candlesticks are in excellent condition with no damage to the silver. The wooden inserts have some minor wear.
