Pair of 18th Century Spanish Carved Giltwood Candlestick Torchere

About the Item

A nice pair of candlesticks or small torch holders from the Spanish Baroque period, they were surely part of the church altar trousseau, in gilded wood and hand-carved with remains of polychrome, they sit on legs of lion's claws from which a column decorated with vegetal motifs, they have a beautiful patina.

    Replacements made: Only one of the legs in the shape of a lion's claw has been restored, a new piece had to be made, since it had been lost at some point, then they proceeded to give it a patina as close as possible to the original. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses.
